Come meet all your cousins at CMA 2009
The above photo is of me being interviewed by Radio Canada when I attended the LeBlanc Family Reunion at CMA 2004 in Nova Scotia. I gave a presentation on Acadian History and was interviewed when I first arrived at the reunion prior to my presentation.
I have been invited to speak at the CMA 2009 Bourg/LeBlanc/Melanson Family Reunion on August 21st. I have offered to give a talk on mtDNA of the Founding Mothers of Acadia - Canadian Television will be coming to do a follow-up interview of the one they did at the beginning of May. The televised interview was on our mtDNA Mothers of Acadia Project.
This second photo is me being interviewed by the local television station at Grand-Pré/Wolfville, Nova Scotia. I gave a presentation at Grand-Pré on New England Acadians - their return home.
You know, when I looked at the above photo five years later, I chuckled when I saw I was wearing the same blouse in this year's television interview with CBC Canada. Too funny!
Moving on to tell you that it is really not too late for anyone wanting to go to attend CMA 2009. Rooms a available and you cannot believe how much fun it is to meet so many Acadians from so many places. At CMA 2009 it was great fun meeting Acadian/Cajun cousins from Louisiana, Australia, France and so many other countries.
If you come to CMA 2009, I will be at the Bourg/LeBlanc/Melanson Family Reunion on Friday, August 21st at Tracadie-Sheila. My friend Lorette and I will also pop into the Breau Family Reunion at Néguac. We then plan to tour some Acadian villages and I will take many photos and videos to share with all of you.
On Saturday, August 22nd, we head to the Doucet Family Reunion. Stephen White will speaking at 11:00 a.m. This reunion is at Grande-Anse. Later we will move on to the Belliveau/Gaudet reunion and attend the banquet in the evening.
Tickets are still available for all events. We also plan to do a quick tour of the Acadian Village in Caraquet.

Hi Lucie,
This will be my second CMA, It's
so much fun going to them to make
everyone aware of how many Acadian live in New England! I'm so thrilled
That Maine will host CMA 2014!
Hi Bruce - I do agree.
Now there is nothing defnite about CMA 2014 being in Maine - where it will be held will be announced at the end of this CMA. It could be held in Louisiana.
This time I will be with you in spirit - and following along on your blog - please don't forget your readers during the CMA!
Evelyn
Thank you Evelyn.. as it now turns out, there is so much on our schedule that I will not be in any one place where I can send or post messgaes. It looks like what I want to share will have to wait until I return home. Of course, if I do find an opportunity, I will post a blog.
