Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy - R.I.P.

Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy

February 22, 1932-August 25, 2009

May he rest in peace

"For all those whose cares have been our concern,
the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives
and the dream shall never die."

The thing about the Kennedy family of Massachusetts is that people either liked them or they did not. I happen to like them.. a lot! They were a wealthy family that could well have ignored the needs of those around them but they did not. Early in life, they learned to reach out to others. Whether or not some believe it, this family has done a whole lot to relieve the hurts and ills of the world.

If people cannot respect the sacrifices of life the members of this family have given to this country, it is sad. I do and I always will.

As Ted Kennedy is laid to rest today, it would be nice to remember to say a prayer for him and for his family ... whether or not you liked him ... whether or not you agreed with the policies he worked on as a United States Senator and whether or not you supported him as a Democrat. It just seems to me to be the Christian thing to do.

Teddy, as a citizen of the great states of Massachusetts, I have always respected you as a native son and I am forever grateful for the sacrifices your brothers Joseph, John and Robert as well as the military service your family, as well as yourself, gave to our country. We shall always remember "Camelot" and we will never forget your spirit of kindness, warmth and love for your fellow citizens around the world.

Rest in peace Teddy!
